Olha Kazakevych

Dr.habil. in History, professor at the Department of History and Philosophy of History under the Dragomanov National Pedagogical University.

Kazakevych holds a History degree from the Shevchenko Kyiv National University (2002). In 2018 she defended her doctor’s thesis titled “Ukrainian language as a factor in constructing contemporary nationhood in the European context (second half of the 19th century – start of the 20th century)”.

Her professional field of expertise includes the following: construction of modern national identity in Ukraine, biographies, daily cooking methods, and history of food in the 1800s and in the early 1900s.

Kazakevych has authored over 60 research articles and books, including, “Pavlo Zhytetsky. Life and work” (2008), “Ukrainian language, nationhood, and national identity in between the empires (second half of the 19th century – start of the 20th century)”.
